I put an all Infinity Kappa Perfect system together for both my 3000gt v-r4 and my Eclipse spider. Both have similar with the exception of sub sizes and front components. I run an eight inch sub and three way six and a halves in the 3k and I run components and the 12 inch sub on this page, the Kappa Perfect... in the spider. It was important for me to have more defined volume in the Eclipse because of the open top, hence the top of the line components Kappa Perfect, which I had been eyeing for some time and the Kappa Perfect 12 sub and 6 by 9s. I am even running the Kappa Five amp in both cars and they sound spectacular. Now down to this sub. This sub is so smooth on its delivery. Lots of bashim volume subs are all about delivery and often drop out at certain frequencies. There is a certain level of delicacy that this sub carries,if you can describe a sub as such..lol. It is capable of ~109dB at 20Hz. This is without room gain :-).The amplifier section is a Crown XLS602D (also from Amazon) and a Behringer FBD 1124P. The 120.9w is incredibly smooth. There is zero boominess (is that a word?) with this enclosure and driver. The friend I am doing this build for was actually scared when a LFE scene came through on TRON Legacy. He wasn't expecting the bottom end. The integration is such that you don't realize the sub is there until you kill the power on the amp. THEN you are going 'what the heck just happened'. That good. To my surprise this sub was amazing! It delivered everything I expected and more. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Well worth the money. The bass is strong enough to throw a punch but smooth enough to enjoy. |
