(car is garage kept through Winter.) I don't think any excessive heat caused the first one to go out, nor any improper wiring or improper initial installation. (Professionally installed, not some garage hack job.) Therefore I'm going to give this product only 2 stars. I would give 1 star but I will give at least a little benefit of the doubt to being in a car so amps move around more and are subject to more temperature variances, but that's what it's made for and should still last more than 3 years. The amp, when it works, does the job it's intended to do. My car stereo sounds great. You may ask why I bought another if I was unsatisfied with the first and the answer is because where this amp goes in the vehicle, there really isn't any other room for a different style amp and I didn't feel like sending the car to the shop to get a new mounting fabricated. My entire system was professionally installed and sounded great but for the price of the amp I certainly expected it to last much longer. I will be purchasing the Alpine PDX-5 as the replacement since there is no warranty. I loved the amp but would warn anyone due to it's short life span. The amp was installed in my pickup which is used on weekends, etc. and I never neglected my system like someone younger may have done. Buyer beware!
