That was an excellent performer and I would gladly recommend that to anyone who is looking to enhance their response. It finally gave up when the sub got punctured by my gardening equipment in an accident. I was looking for a good subwoofer to replace the one I had and ended up going to the nearest BBuy. They had a large selection of Kicker Subwoofers, most of them had the power to melt your brain!! I was not looking at that kind of performance anyways so ended up looking at their lowest powered box and it was priced at around 250 bucks + install which would set me around 400 bucks!.Searched on the net and found very good reviews for this particular model on another website but sadly non on amazon. This in combination with a pioneer head unit pushing 50 watts a channel to 4 6.5" door speakers. I'm a major skeptic of discount products but thought I'd give this kit a try and am I ever glad I did!! The bass is clear yet devastatingly powerful, it absolutely hammers the lows. Now don't get me wrong this is no high end system but for the money it just can't be beat. All my friends are very impressed with it's power and clarity and can't believe what I paid for it. My only complaint would be the wiring kit which is seriously lacking. Defiantly buy a 4 gauge kit with higher quality RCA cables... It does make a difference! And an in line fuse holder would be a wise investment. I have had no problems with the amp overheating and believe me I beat on it pretty hard. Enough said. For a beginner audiophile, or whomever, this is the ideal STIMULUS PACKAGE to get you where you need to be very fast. Easy install, very mindless and complete common sense install, no fancy quirks or gizmos to fuddle with. If it doesn't play, usually it's a 1) bad ground 2) power wire messed up somewhere 3)check the blue remote wire from the cd player. I also like the remote gain switch. Nice touch. The amp runs a little hot, but that's a common factor in most lower end amps. If that's a concern for you, buy just the sub and get your fancy amp elsewhere. |
