Well, this amp really does more than its rated for. The box says its rated for 400 RMS, but when i opened the box, the birthsheet said the amp was rated at 482RMS. So you really do get more than you are paying for. This amp is really loud compared to amps ive had in the past. I had a 2500 watt Boss audio xxtreme amplifier. I thought that was loud, and sounded pretty good too... but compared to this amp, that was a p.o.s. This amp puts out real power, all those cheap amps that are rated for 50,000,000 watts and cost maybe $200 are all b.s. They dont even put out a tenth of what they say they do. My birthsheet rated it at 475w rms, that 75 over what they are advertised at. Best buy sells the same amp for almost $300, and it is worth that, runs my mtx terminators flawlessly and at the perfect power for them, they make a great pair. Sub box has one line in and it is rated at 400w rms at 2 ohm, this is a mono amp with 400+w rms at 2 ohm. I bought this amp to replace a Boston Acoustics GT-22 2 channel amp (275 watts). I am running one 10" Boston Acoustics G2 sub in a ported box and the Kicker not only provides more power but also delivers much tighter bass at all volumes. The difference between the two is immediately noticeable in it's construction/design, it's performance and price.Construction/Design: This amp is small for it's power rating and has a small footprint allowing your to easily mount it almost anywhere in your vehicle. I opted to mount mine right to the side of my ported box so it has some room to breath. Everything on it is overbuilt and is pretty rugged so if you put it in your trunk or under a car seat you don't have to worry about it getting banged up.
